OTTAWA (Reuters), Canada threatens to impose tariffs against a wide range of American exports if U.S. lawmakers approve a plan for a credit to domestic electric-vehicle manufacturers. A measure Ottawa strongly opposes.

Canada’s Finance and Trade Ministers wrote to Congress and the U.S. Senate, stating that if they couldn’t resolve the problem, Ottawa would launch a dispute resolution process in accordance with the U.S.-Mexico Canada trade agreement.
