Biden ‘deeply troubled’ by reports of Kellogg replacing striking workers -Breaking

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden stated Friday that he is “deeply troubled” by the reports from Kellogg (NYSE 🙂 Co that it planned to hire permanent replacements in strike unionized workers.

“Permanently replacing striking workers is an existential attack on the union and its members’ jobs and livelihoods. Biden made a statement that stated, “I have always opposed the permanent replacement of strikers” and that I support legislation to ban such an act.

Kellogg stated Tuesday that a majority U.S.-based workers at its cereal plants voted no to a five-year contract. This forced it to find permanent replacements for employees who were on strike since more than two years ago.
