WASHINGTON (Reuters] – U.S. president Joe Biden claimed that he met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to congratulate his appointment and to look forward to working together in dealings such as Russia’s military buildup close to Ukraine.

Biden stated in a tweet (NYSE:) that “Today I spoke to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and congratulated him on his nomination.”

“I look forward to working closely together on the full range of global challenges, including transatlantic efforts to address Russia’s destabilizing military buildup along Ukraine’s border,” Biden said.
