WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – A number of residents were left trapped in a Arkansas nursing home after it was hit by a tornado. The tornado killed two and injures five people, according to media reports.

According to KAIT, a channel affiliated with broadcaster NBC Jonesboro, the tornado that struck Monette’s nursing home was just one of dozens of tornadoes throughout the area.

The official quoted as Judge Marvin Day, Craighead county’s judge, saying that at least 20 people had been trapped in Monette Manor near the Tennessee-Tennessee border.

It was reported that Truman’s nursing home had also been damaged. There are fire-fighting teams headed for the region, it said.

On Friday, the U.S. National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for several areas, including Arkansas, Tennessee and Missouri.
