G7 warns Russia of ‘massive consequences’ if Ukraine attacked

LIVERPOOL [England] (Reuters] – Russia was warned by the Group of Seven wealthiest Democracies on Sunday of “massive consequence” if Vladimir Putin invades Ukraine. This is according to a draft statement that Reuters saw.

G7 representatives spoke out at a summit held in Liverpool, northern England.

According to the draft statement, “Russia shouldn’t be surprised that any further military aggression on Ukraine will have severe consequences” and was confirmed by G7 sources.

Ukraine has been accused by Russia of massing thousands of troops to prepare for an upcoming large-scale military attack. This is causing a major crisis in East-West relations.

Russia claims that it has not planned any attacks and also accuses the United States and Ukraine of destabilizing behaviour. It stated that it requires security guarantees to ensure its safety.

G7 is made up of the United States, Britain, France and Germany. It also includes an American representative.
