Volkswagen plans to decide new gigafactory locations in H1, 2022 -Breaking

BERLIN, (Reuters) – Volkswagen (DE:), Monday said it was looking into locations in Spain for proposed battery cells plants. It also stated that the precise sites of its third- and fourth gigafactories in 2022 would be established in the first quarter.

Volkswagen will open at least two additional cell factories in Europe by 2030,” stated the group in a statement.

Volkswagen said that it would also create a European corporation to manage its batteries related activities. It hopes to maximize their efficiency in an effort to become the top-selling electric vehicle manufacturer worldwide.
