© Reuters. BERLIN, (Reuters) – The downtrend in new vehicle registrations in Europe from July has slowed, according to industry data. In November, the total number of vehicles registered was 17.5% lower than the 30% drop in the month before.
Global shortages of semiconductors and supply chain problems have impacted global deliveries, with many carmakers still holding on to half-finished products and not being able to fulfill demand.
According to data from ACEA, the number of vehicles that were registered by the European Union, Britain, and the European Free Trade Association, (EFTA), rose for four consecutive months, but fell every month thereafter, according to the auto association ACEA.
The number of cars registered in the European Union (Britain) and European Free Trade Association was only 17.5% less than in November last year. That compares with a drop in November by 30%, 25% in September, 23.6%, and 23.6% respectively.
