  • FedEx(NYSE:) Stock rose 5.5% following the reinstatement of its Fiscal 2022 Forecast late Thursday by delivery company. The firm had negotiated persistent labor problems with relative success during peak holiday season.

  • OracleThe stock of (NYSE: ) plunged 5.1% on news that enterprise software firm WSJ could be willing to pay $30 Billion, the largest purchase it has made to-date. Cerner (NASDAQ:), an electronic-medical-records company. Cerner stock rose 16%.

  • Darden RestaurantsThe stock of (NYSE:) fell 3.6% following the announcement by Olive Garden’s owner that Gene Lee would be retiring; this was despite the fact that the company raised its fiscal forecasts for 2022 based on strong quarterly results.

  • WinnebagoStock rose 4.1% in NYSE after recreational vehicle maker beat revenue and profit expectations. The company was able to benefit from Covid-19, which skews tourism spending towards domestic vacation options.

  • Rivian(NASDAQ:) Stock fell 8.4% following the announcement by the manufacturer of electric vehicles that it had reported a large net loss for its first quarter as a publicly traded company. It also stated its anticipated production levels would be below its 2021 goal, which was a bad sign because of its ambitions to increase production next year.

  • General MotorsThe stock of (NYSE:) fell 3.6% following the announcement by the auto giant that Dan Ammann is leaving as chief executive for its self-driving vehicle subsidiary Cruise. Just as the auto giant is about to get approvals to run a self driving car service in San Francisco, this announcement has a 3.6% drop.

  • Starbucks (NASDAQ:) stock fell 1.4% after Baird downgraded its stance on the coffee chain to ‘neutral’ from ‘outperform’, warning of uncertainty over its business in China as well as rising costs.

  • Meta PlatformsStock fell 1.3% following tech sector declines and weighted by news that approximately 50,000 users of Facebook were targeted by private surveillance firms.

  • U.S. Steel Stock fell 5.1% following disappointing guidance from the steel producer for the current quarter. This was due to higher costs and more cautious customer purchasing patterns.
