REUTERS/Eduardo Munoz(Reuters] – Jefferies Financial Group Inc Chief Executive Officer Richard Handler indicated on Saturday that Jefferies is “tentatively shooting” for January 17th as a return date.
Handler stated in an Instagram post that all employees eligible for the coronavirus vaccine booster shots must receive one prior to Jan. 31st to get access to lender offices.
Jefferies asked employees to work at home on December 8 after a series of COVID-19 incidents within the company. It had cancelled all travel plans for clients and cancelled many client parties.
Handler stated that COVID-19 was a common diagnosis for employees. He said that most of the symptoms were mild to moderate and that there are very few severe cases. Handler also noted that symptoms that occurred during the illness weren’t lasting long, so that those who did experience them now feel well.
Jefferies staff members are all fully vaccinated, he stated.
Wall Street banks, investment companies and other businesses have shown more initiative than others in asking employees to return to their offices. Omicron coronavirus, a variant of Omicron virus that has been rapidly spreading across the globe, has derail many of those efforts.
