ROME (Reuters – Pope Francis stated that violence committed by men against women is almost satanic.

During a program broadcast by Italy’s TG5 on Sunday, he used the most powerful language he had ever used to condemn violence.

Francis responded to Giovanna’s question about domestic violence, “The number women who are beat and abused at home, even by their husbands is very, very high,” Francis stated.

He said, “The problem with it, for me is that it almost satanic because they are taking advantage of someone who cannot defend herself, and who can only try to (block the blows) blocking the blows.” It is very humiliating. It is very humiliating.

Giovanna claimed that she was responsible for four of her children after they left a home with violence.

Francis has repeatedly spoken against domestic violence in the wake of COVID-19’s outbreak nearly two years back. This is because many victims were left with abusive men after lockdowns.

According to police statistics, there were approximately 90 instances of violence against women per day in Italy. The 62% cases involved domestic violence.

Francis stated that women who are abused and beat have not lost their dignity. Giovanna was told by Francis that he sees dignity in her because “if you didn’t have dignity you wouldn’t be here.”

He turned to other human misery examples and heard a homeless lady talk about life on the streets, as well as a man trying his best to get on his feet again after spending 25 years behind bars.

Francis set up services to offer Rome’s homeless health care, hair cutting and showering in the vicinity of the Vatican.

He ordered that a former convent-like palazzo located near St. Peter’s Square be made into a shelter for homeless people in 2020.
