Bluescope Steel Ltd. (ASX) was the best performer of the session, rising 4.09% or 0.8660 points to close at 21.910. Meanwhile, Viva Energy Group Ltd (ASX) gained 3.72% or $0.80 points to finish at 2.230. Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd, (ASX) increased 3.42%/ 0.92 to 27.79 late trade.
Magellan Financial Group Ltd., (ASX:) fell by 32.90% to close at 19.70. Cimic Group Ltd. ASX: fell 13.37% (or 2.45 points) to finish at 15.88 Nanosonics Ltd (ASX) fell 9.37%, or 0.61 points, to 5.90.
On the Sydney Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered advancing by 970 to 445. 365 was unchanged.
Magellan Financial Group Ltd. (ASX) shares fell to their 5-year lowest point, losing 32.90% (9.66 to 19.70). Cimic Group Ltd. shares (ASX:), fell 13.37% to 52-week lowest; dropping 2.45 to 15.88.

For February delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.29% to $1799.65 an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell by 3.57%, or 2.53, to reach $68.33 per barrel. The February Brent oil contract dropped by 2.15, or 2.92%, to trade at $71.37 per barrel.
The AUD/USD fell 0.51 to 0.7088 while the AUD/JPY dropped 0.72% at 80.40
