REUTERS/Denis BalibouseGENEVA (Reuters), – Monday’s global merchandise trend was down 0.8% for the third quarter. The World Trade Organization also stated that Omicron coronavirus, a variant of Omicron coronavirus, had made it more likely that 2021 will see fewer growth rates.
According to the WTO, supply chain disruptions, shortages in production inputs, and an increase of COVID-19, trade volume fell between July and September, according to a statement posted on their website.
It said that a 2021 growth target can theoretically be still met but Omicron’s emergence has “tipped” the balance towards the downside and increased the likelihood of a negative outcome.
