© Reuters U.S. stocks lower at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 1.23%Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the closing of NYSE the Index fell 1.23% while the Index declined 1.14% and fell 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the were Merck & Company Inc (NYSE:), which rose 0.95% or 0.72 points to trade at 76.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Home Depot Inc (NYSE 🙂 gained 0.37%, or 1.42 points, to close at 389.40. Walmart Inc (NYSE 🙂 was up 0.32 points or 0.45 to 139.20 late trade.
The Travelers Companies Inc. (NYSE:), the worst-performing session, fell 2.95 points or 4.66 to close at 153.53. Caterpillar Inc (NYSE: ) fell 2.93%, or 5.91 points, to finish at 195.46 Nike Inc (NYSE 🙂 fell 2.71%, or 4.38 points, to 156.98.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Carnival Corporation (NYSE:) which rose 3.39% to 18.90, Pfizer Inc (NYSE:), which rose 2.59% to settle at 61.02 and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE: ) closed at 20.76 after closing up 2.12%
Principal Financial Group Inc (NASDAQ :), which fell 6.59% to 66.692 in late trading, was among the worst performers. Moderna Inc (NASDAQ) lost 6.25% and settled at 276.38 Nucor Corp (NYSE:), which fell 5.82%, to 111.13 by the end.
These were the top performers in the NASDAQ Composite Society Pass Inc (NASDAQ) rose 240.18%, to 11.26 SeaChange International Inc (NASDAQ :), which was up 33.6% to settle at 2.1000 Aeroclean Technologies LLC (NASDAQ) which gained 33.9% to close at 11.31
They were among the most disappointing. Summit Therapeutics PLC (NASDAQ:), which fell 47.99% to 2.290 in late trade Insignia Systems Inc (NASDAQ) lost 35.06% and settled at 11.500 Nutriband Inc (NASDAQ) was at close of business, down 23.6% to 3.14
On the New York Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 2617, 655, and 118 respectively. 118 was unchanged.
Summit Therapeutics PLC shares (NASDAQ:), fell 47.99% to 52 week lows. This is a drop of 2.390 to 2.590. SeaChange International Inc. (NASDAQ:), shares rose to 52 week highs, gaining 36.36%. This is a gain of 0.5600 to 2.1000. Nutriband Inc shares (NASDAQ:), fell 23.60%, or 0.97 to 3.14 to their lowest level in over a decade.

EUR/USD was up 0.4% at 1.1280. USD/JPY was up 0.02%, to 113.61.
