The White House reported that President Joe Biden was negative for Covid Monday. This came just days after Biden had been in close contact and tested positive for the virus.

Jen Psaki, Jen’s press secretary, stated in a statement that he will again be subject to testing Wednesday.

The White House has released the complete release:

We stated this last summer that we think it’s in the public interest to find out if any of four principals (President and Vice President, First Ladies, Second Gentleman, and Second Gentleman), were in close contact or not with White House officials who tested positive for COVID-19 within a short time. According to CDC guidance, the White House Medical Unit will determine what “close contact” is.

A positive COVID-19 result was received Monday morning by a middle-ranking staff member who doesn’t have regular contact with President.  On Friday, the staff member spent 30 minutes near the President of Air Force One on its journey from Orange, South Carolina, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The staff member was fully vaccinated, boosted and had a negative test before boarding Air Force One. This is required for all Presidents who travel with them. This employee did not experience any symptoms before Sunday. He was then tested for them on Monday.

Air Force One personnel who came into close contact with the staff member will also be contacted. They will be advised by the CDC to have their blood tested.

Regular testing is done on the President.  A Sunday antigen test was performed on the President as part of regular testing. The result came back negative.

After being notified about the positive staffer test result, the President was given a PCR and was confirmed negative. He will go back for a second test on Wednesday.

Because CDC guidance doesn’t require that people who have been fully vaccinated be placed in quarantine following an exposure, President Trump will carry out his regular schedule.
