Micron, Nike, Citrix Rise Premarket; General Mills Falls -Breaking

  • Nike (NYSE:) stock rose 3.7% after sales of its shoes and apparel in North America, the company’s largest market, rose 12% year-on-year, offsetting a 20% slump in the company’s sales in China.

  • Micron (NASDAQ:) stock rose 8.5% after a solid start to the chipmaker’s financial year, driven by strong demand for its memory and storage chips, led it to promise a record year of sales with “solid profitability”.

  • NikolaThe stock of (NASDAQ:) rose 2.9% on the announcement that the maker of electric trucks agreed to pay $125m to the Securities and Exchange Committee in settlement charges. It was a move to remove uncertainty and to eliminate some element over the stock.

  • FedExStock rose 1.5% on the NYSE after JPMorgan named delivery company one of their top picks in 2022. The stock saw nearly 30% upside.

  • General Mills Stock fell 3.5% on the NYSE after the retailer failed to meet its quarterly earnings expectations. The reason was higher input costs and disruptions in supply chains. It did raise its full-year sales estimates, buoyed by strong demand in snacks and bakery products, as well as continued strong at-home pandemic cooking.

  • Citrix SystemsThe stock of (NASDAQ:) rose 9.2% in the wake of a Bloomberg report that stated that Vista Equity Partners, activist investor Elliott Management, and Elliott Management are considering joint bids for the cloud computing firm.

  • Rite AidThe stock of (NYSE:) rose 4.8% as the pharmacy chain reported a quarter profit and not the expected loss. It also announced that 60 of its stores would be closing to create annual savings of about $25 million.

  • Moderna (NASDAQ:) Stock rose 0.3% when CEO Stephane Bangell told a Swiss newspaper the tailoring of Covid-19’s vaccine against Omicron could start within a few days and only minor modifications would be necessary.
