(Reuters] -Walmart Inc. Walgreens Boots Alliance. NASDAQ: Limited sales of COVID-19 at-home testing kits. Walgreens Boots Alliance cites a rise in demand because of Omicron, a variant of coronavirus.

With lightning speed, the variant has taken over the United States. This is threatening the hopes for normal holidays in America. The country’s infrastructure and restrictions have been resuscitated and stretched ahead of the holiday gatherings and travel.

Walgreens announced in an emailed statement Tuesday that they would restrict online and store purchases of test kit kits to just four customers. Walgreens also stated that it is working with suppliers in order to meet demand.

Walmart (NYSE: ) established an eight-test limit for online orders, however its physical stores were allowed to determine their limits according to inventory levels.

Walmart stated in a statement that they have strong stock levels in stores nationwide. However, online inventory can be more limited depending on where you live.

Biden announced on Tuesday that 500 million rapid at-home tests would be purchased by the Biden administration. Americans will have access to them online free of charge starting in January.
