Investing.com — Heniff Transportation said Wednesday it had signed a Letter Of Intent with Thompson Truck Centers to acquire 100 Zero Emission Trucks. Nikola Corp (NASDAQ:).
According to the bulk liquid chemical and food transport company, it agreed to acquire initially 10 Nikola Tre Electric Vehicle (BEV), trucks from Thompson Truck Centers. Thompson Truck Centers is a member Nikola’s service and sales dealer network.
Once the initial 10 vehicles are successfully deployed, Heniff and Thompson have agreed to an order of an additional 90 trucks to be deployed into Heniff’s fleet.
Heniff-Thompson’s deal is structured in a service-as-a–service format. Thompson will manage the truck’s sales, maintenance and energy infrastructure. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2022’s first-half.
“We see this partnership with Nikola and Thompson as a means to accelerate our strategy for electrification of our fleet and as a positive benefit for our customers, communities, employees, and stakeholders,” said Bob Heniff, CEO of Heniff Transportation.
Nikola shares fell more than 1.5% on Wednesday, despite this news. On Tuesday, it was revealed to settle charges that it defrauded investors by misleading them about its products, technical advancements, and commercial prospects.
