REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration(Reuters] – A tri-dose regimen of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine against Omicron coronavirus is safe and effective, according to the pharmaceutical company. The data was based on an Oxford University study.
This study was published in peer-reviewed medical journals. It showed that Omicron antibody levels after booster shots were greater than those of people infected by COVID-19 and had recovered from it naturally.
The company said that after a course of three doses of vaccine, Omicron’s neutralizing levels were comparable to the ones against Delta virus following two doses.
Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company said that researchers from Oxford University conducted the study independently of those working on Vaxzevria with AstraZeneca.
