Japan PM Kishida calls for BOJ efforts to hit inflation target -Breaking

TOKYO (Reuters), – Fumio, Japan’s Prime Minister, said Thursday that he hoped that the central bank would keep trying to meet its 2% inflation target. He also expressed hope for closer cooperation with government officials on economic policy.

Kishida said that Japan can achieve healthy growth through ensuring both the Bank of Japan’s monetary policy and government’s fiscal policies work in tandem.

He said, “That is why it’s so important that the two sides coordinate and communicate closely.”
