The research found that Bitcoin handled approximately $489 billion worth of transactions in the quarter ended 2021. On the other hand, PayPal completed an estimated average of $302 billion per quarter – 60% less of what Bitcoin handled.

Flipping PayPal is an amazing feat. However, Mastercard (NYSE:) and Visa (NYSE;) are far ahead in transaction processing. Mastercard handled $1.8 trillion in transactions per quarter, and Visa processed $3.2 trillion.
