WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Jared Kushner’s global investment company, Affinity Partners has secured more than $3B in commitment funding from international investors according to a source familiar with the matter. This was disclosed by Reuters on Thursday.
Kushner is a former Trump aide and married to Ivanka. He founded the Miami-based Affinity Partners in last summer when he decided to leave politics. The fall saw him start raising funds.
Kushner intends to invest in American companies and Israeli businesses that seek international growth opportunities in India and Africa.
According to a source, Kushner has already received more than $3B in commitments. He said that he plans to keep fund-raising going for the next several months, to add to these commitments and possibly make additional.
Affinity did not disclose information about specific investors, however, Affinity was targeting American institutions.
Sources say that Affinity plans to sign its first deal within the first quarter in 2022.
It has already hired around 20 employees, which includes private equity veterans Bret Naqvi and Asad Perlman. The company plans to concentrate on U.S.-based investments, as well as Middle East-based ones.
Kushner, a Trump White House official, helped to broker trade deals between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Sudan in a 6-month-long flurry. Kushner also assisted in the negotiation of a U.S.-Mexico Canada trade agreement.
While he played an important role in Trump’s unsuccessful 2020 reelection campaign, he has avoided Trump’s fraudulent claims about voter fraud. Kushner attempted to dissociate his father-in law from fringe, far right social media platforms following Trump’s Jan. 6th riot.
Kushner said he hopes to establish “an investment corridor” between Israel and Saudi Arabia by working closely with Israeli companies and investors.
HarperCollins is set to publish a book on his White House experiences in 2022.
