Rohit Sharma, cricketer joins NFT Train to Launch the Collection on FanCraze

Recent highs have seen NFT get a lot of attention. Some of the world’s most famous people, including celebrities and sports stars, have joined the NFT frenzy by auctioning their digital artifacts. Rajnikanth, Yuvraj Sing, Big B and Dabboo Ratnani are all on this list. However, Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, has decided to join the NFT train.

The Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli, will launch his NFTs on FanCraze. Faze Technologies, the platform’s parent firm, has made the announcement. “This is a great opportunity for me to share some of the finest moments of my career with my fans. I can not wait to see what FanCraze has in store for us in the months to come, including NFTs and avatars like HitMan,” the cricketer is quoted.

In the NFT collectibles list, cricket memorabilia from some of the cricketer’s “daddy hundreds” (scores of 150 or more) as well as the ICC Golden Bat from the 2019 ICC World Cup are expected to be included. Anshum Bhambri, FanCraze CEO stated in a statement that

“We consider elite athletes as artists who produce their finest work on the field of play. With Rohit Sharma, a true cricketing genius, as a partner, we are looking forward to creating a new model of athlete-fan connection.”

Reports claim that the digital platform has agreed to an agreement with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the three-year use of the ICC’s collection of video and audio materials dating back to 1975. According to some reports, cricket enthusiasts will soon be able to sell and buy NFTs that are tied to specific clips via the secondary market. Reports claim that each NFT will contain meta-data, which is presumably linked to how many runs or wickets the player has achieved.
