Microbot Medical Surges On Stryker Collaboration -Breaking

Investing.com — Microbot Medical Inc (NASDAQ:)The news that a medical device manufacturer has signed a deal with prompted a nearly 70% increase in NASDAQ to $9.20 Monday morning. Stryker Corporation (NYSE:), an American medical technology company.

Microbot from Massachusetts will partner with Stryker’s Neurovascular Unit to combine Microbot’s LIBERTY Robotic System and its neurovascular instrumentation to create what they describe as the “world’s first dedicated robotic procedural kit” for use in neurovascular procedure.

Stryker shares have not moved much following this news. They are up 0.1%.

“We have already ensured that the LIBERTY Robotic System has a strong and sustainable competitive advantage, and the collaboration with Stryker will allow us to further expand in the neurovascular space,” commented Harel Gadot, Chairman, CEO and President of Microbot Medical.

Gadot added that the deal will also allow them to accelerate their goal of “changing the way robotic surgery is viewed and adopted.”

Microbot last week announced that it had obtained a third U.S. trademark for the LIBERTY Robotic System. Microbot also stated to investors it was looking for clinical sites where the human trial could be started. 

Independently, they will develop the LIBERTY Robotic System for peripheral and coronary procedures.
