S&P, Dow futures at record highs as rally sustains -Breaking

(Reuters) – The and reached all-time highs Tuesday. This was despite thin trading volumes and investors trying to ignore the Omicron-driven disruptions in travel and store closings.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:), closed its twelve New York City locations to indoor shopping. This is the latest company in a string of tightening protocols after cases rose across America and caused thousands of cancellations on Monday.
Wall Street managed to climb for fourth straight day thanks to strong consumer demand. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted their best four-day rally since November 2020.
This week, data from Omicron showed the Omicron version being less fatal than was feared. There were also new drugs and additional vaccines for COVID-19, which sparked risk appetite. These factors put the main indexes in a steady pace of monthly gains.
6.36 AM ET ET Dow e-minis increased 87 points (or 0.24%) and was up 12.25, or 0.26%.
Some megacap companies have roared in the recent rally, with Apple Inc — up marginally in premarket trading — within spitting distance of becoming the first U.S. company to hit $3 trillion in market capitalization.
Tesla Inc (NASDAQ) Inc surged 1% in premarket trading after soaring nearly 22% over the last four sessions.
Markets are in one of the seasonally strong periods, also called the Santa Claus Rally, with CFRA Research data showing the S&P 500 has on average risen 1.3% in the last 5 trading days of the year, and first two days of the new year since 1969.
