(Reuters). Former President Donald Trump settled a dispute with PGA of America regarding the decision of the association earlier in the year to remove a major professional event from a Trump-owned green, according to the PGA of America.

The PGA announced that it reached a confidential settlement agreement with Trump Organization to resolve legal claims that stemmed from the decision made in response to the Trump storming at the U.S. Capitol.

The press release said that “while the terms of settlement remain secret, representatives from the PGA as well as the Trump Organization expressed their satisfaction with the agreement.”

After a vote of its board of directors, the PGA of America announced that it would be removing Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster (New Jersey), from the 2022 PGA Championship. This is one of four prestigious majors in the annual golf calendar.

“It has become clear that conducting the PGA Championship at Trump Bedminster would be detrimental to the PGA of America brand,” PGA of America President Jim Richerson said in a video announcing the decision.

The Jan. 6 riots saw four deaths and one death. One Capitol police officer also died from injuries sustained in defending Congress. During the Trump supporters’ multihour assault, more than 100 officers sustained injuries. Four officers later took their lives.

The assault on Capitol has led to more than 700 arrests.

The PGA Press Release did not mention whether Trump’s golf courses would host future PGA Tournaments.

Eric Trump, a Trump Organization executive and son of President Trump, stated that he was looking forward to “continuing to support the mission PGA and its professionals, who are among the best golf industry players,” in a joint statement.
