Not a Whale, Not a Representative – Dogecoin Founder, Billy Markus, Reveals His DOGE Holdings

Billy Markus created , based on the popular Doge meme, in “about two hours” in 2013. Initially, the asset was intended to be a parody of the world’s biggest cryptocurrency, , but Dogecoin has since amassed a market cap of over $25 billion.

Billy Markus is the creator of the meme that has made a multibillion dollars. He now discloses how many Dogecoin coins he holds. There was widespread speculation that Billy Markus, the creator of the 12-biggest crypto currency, would own a large amount of DOGE.

A Whale and a Representative are not allowed
Markus disclosed in a recent interview that he actually owns 220k DOGE. This is approximately $42,000.

Dogecoin’s founder clarified his role in the first meme coin project. Markus says he’s now a Dogecoin member.

He adds that he doesn’t speak for or work with the Dogecoin Foundation and as such, he shouldn’t be considered a representative of the project.

What is it that makes Dogecoin’s founder not a whale?
Struggling to come to terms with DOGE’s recent gains, Billy Markus disclosed to a Reddit group that he sold his Dogecoin stash in 2015 for the equivalent of “a used Honda Civic.”

Markus claims that Markus experienced this fear after being laid off. Dogecoin’s value was approximately $0.00018 in June 2015. DOGE trades at $0.189 as DOGE has gained approximately 1000 times in the past year.
