Investing.com — Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:) announced Tuesday that it expects to cancel up to 250 of 4,133 scheduled mainline and Delta connection flights today.

According to Omicron, the airline is experiencing winter weather in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest.

Although it appears to be milder than other variants, the transmission rate is higher, so workers with positive results, even those who are not yet symptomatic must take precautions. Due to the shortage of workers, airlines have had to shut down or cut their services.

U.S. health officials modified their recommendations on isolation following infection. Asymptomatic patients now need to be isolated for only five days. This is a reduction from the 10 day previous recommendation. It also reduces the amount of time close relatives must quarantine.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers by the disruption in their travel plans. Delta stated that its employees are working together round the clock to find alternate aircraft and crews and reroute customers as soon as possible.

Delta’s shares are up 2.2% after Monday’s decline.
