Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index lost 0.1% at the NSE close, and the index dropped 0.16%.

They were the top performers at the session Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS), rose 3.30% to trade at 2562.25 by the close. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., NS:, gained 2.91% (23.70 points) to close at 838.80 Bajaj Auto Ltd (NSS:) was up 2.2% or 86.45 Points to 3262.50 late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. ITC Ltd (NS) fell 1.50%, or 3.30 point to close at 216.75. State Bank Of India declined by 1.47%, or 6.80 points, to close at 454.40 Coal India Ltd (NSA:) dropped 1.41% to 146.75, or 2.10 point.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:) which rose 2.86% to 838.30, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was up 1.99% to settle at 869.65 and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.66% to close at 4822.00.

State Bank Of India, (BO) was the worst performer. It fell 1.45% to 454.25 late trade. ITC Ltd was also down (BO) to settle at 213.80. Tech Mahindra Ltd was down 1.09% at 1786.65.

On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 982-807, and 29 ended unchanged. However, on the Bombay Stock Exchange 2001 saw a rise and 1274 fell, and 92 was unchanged.

For February delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.78% (or 14.10) to $1796.80 an troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 0.06 or 0.02 to $75.92/barrel, and March Brent oil, which rose 0.12 or 0.15 each to $78.79/barrel.

USD/INR increased 0.02% to $74.716 while EUR/INR dropped 0.16% at 84.3395.

At 96.312, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.11%.
