Spain picks QEV as front-runner to take over Nissan’s Barcelona plant -Breaking

MADRID (Reuters). – After Great Wall Motor (China) withdrew their interest, Spanish authorities chose QEV Technologies (OTC) to replace Nissan in Barcelona.

QEV Technologies, a Catalonia-based engineering firm plans to transform the building into an electric vehicle hub. This includes participation from Inzile or Volta in Sweden.

Spain is trying to quickly find a buyer of the plant that Nissan plans on closing at the end this year. Great Wall was originally scheduled to assume control of the plant, but it pulled out in the final moments of December.
