Investing.com — Aridis Pharmaceuticals Inc ‘s (NASDAQ:) monoclonal antibody cocktail treatment is potentially first-in-class, H.C. Wainwright analyst Vernon Bernardino told investors Wednesday.

Aridis revealed last week that AR-701 was broadly reactive against Omicron (and other Covid-19 variants), SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), MERS Coronavirus (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus) and the common flu, which is a type human coronavirus.

According to TheFly Bernardino who reiterated a Buy rating and $19 price target for Aridis shares said that Aridis cocktails “bind to the S2 spike subunit of the viral cell membrane fusion mechanism in SARS-CoV-2 variations and also to the Omicron variant with zero loss in affinity when compared to its original Wuhan strain.”

An analyst now sees the start of phase 1 testing as positive for Aridis Pharmaceuticals’ share price in next year.

H.C. Wainwright made positive remarks about Aridis, following similar comments by Cantor Fitzgerald last week who said that Aridis’ pipeline was “underappreciated”.

It is currently trading down more than 6.8% on Wednesday to $2.04, despite bullish comments.
