NEW YORK (Reuters] – New Waterford Crystals joined more than 2,000 sparkling Triangles to cover the ball that descends over New York City’s Times Square every single year. These triangles covered days before countdown to 2022.

Jeffrey Strauss of Countdown Entertainment stated Monday, “We are here today replacing 192 of those Waterford crystal triangles behind me with a brand new design, the Gift of Wisdom.’ It’s symbolized by the wheel that has these flowers of knowledge moving forward.

The geodesic globe, measuring 12 feet by 1175 pounds and 12 feet wide, receives 192 crystal facets each year that reflect the themes of the year. These include Happiness, Goodwill and Harmony as well as Serenity and Kindness. There are 2,688 crystal panels covering the ball, ranging in length from 4-3/4″ to 5-3/4″.

New Year’s Eve at Times Square in New York will be shortened for the second consecutive year. Organisers encourage spectators to watch the show online. Due to spread of Omicron virus, the in-person attendance of approximately 60,000 people before the pandemic will be limited at 15,000 because of this.

The worldwide audience should remain huge.

Strauss stated that there will be more than one billion people worldwide joining in the celebrations on television and the internet. It’s the only moment when we can all unite, even though it lasts 60 seconds.

This year, stars are expected to appear at the celebration including KT (NYSE: ) Tunstall and LL Cool J. Journey, Chloe, and Journey.
