Corrects sixth paragraph description of death of police officer to state he died from natural causes and not because he was injured while defending the U.S. Capitol

(Reuters) -A dispute between Donald Trump and the PGA of America has been resolved over Trump’s earlier decision to withdraw a major tournament from a Trump-owned course.

According to a press release by the PGA, it has reached a confidential agreement with Trump Organization regarding legal claims arising from the decision made in response to the Trump storming the U.S. Capitol.

According to the release, “While terms of the settlement are confidential, both representatives from the PGA (and the Trump Organization) expressed satisfaction with it.”

After a vote of its board of directors, the PGA of America announced that it would be removing Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster (New Jersey), from the 2022 PGA Championship. This is one of four prestigious majors in the annual golf calendar.

“It has become clear that conducting the PGA Championship at Trump Bedminster would be detrimental to the PGA of America brand,” PGA of America President Jim Richerson said in a video announcing the decision.

Over 100 police officers sustained injuries during Trump’s multi-hour assault. Since then, four of them have taken their own lives.

    A Capitol Police officer, Brian Sicknick, suffered strokes and died of natural causes one day after responding to the attack, the District of Columbia’s chief medical examiner determined in April.

The assault on Capitol has led to more than 700 arrests.

According to the PGA press release, Trump courses won’t host future PGA tournaments.

Eric Trump, a Trump Organization executive and son of President Trump, stated that he was looking forward to “continuing to support the mission PGA and its professionals, who are among the best golf industry players,” in a joint statement.
