Chevron delays return to office for office workers over Omicron -Breaking

REUTERS/Mike Blake/File photo(Reuters) – Chevron (NYSE:) Thursday’s announcement by the company that it would postpone a January return to work for the two biggest U.S. sites, as Omicron spreads throughout the United States, was made on Thursday.
According to Reuters, this week saw a record-breaking number of cases of coronavirus in the United States. This was based upon the average seven-day count, which included over 290,000. New infections were reported each day.
Chevron is joining other big U.S. employers who have reversed the course on their plans to let employees work remotely from their workplace campuses.
Engie, North American’s unit, was originally planning to send its U.S. staff back next month. But, a source familiar with the matter said that the company pushed the start date up to February. The company didn’t respond to our request for comment.
