© Reuters India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.87%Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
NSE added 0.87 percent at the closing, and index increased 0.80%.
They were the top performers at the session Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS): traded at 474.75 after the close by rising 5.58%, or 25.10 point. Titan Company Ltd. (NS) gained 3.49% to close at 2522.40. UltraTech Cement Ltd (NSS:) traded up 2.2% to 759.05, or 193.85 Points.
These were the worst performers of the session. NTPC Ltd (NS), fell 1.97% to trade at 122.44, or 2.50 point at the close. Cipla Ltd. (NS) fell 0.91%, or 8.65 points, to close at 944.10 Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS-:) dropped 0.52% to 1790.55, or 9.40 point.
BSE Sensex 30 was led by Titan Company Ltd., which rose 3.50% towards 2521.85; UltraTech Cement Ltd.(BO:), up 2.62% and settling at 7591.95 respectively. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd..(BO:), gained 2.36% to close the deal at 1796.30.
NTPC Ltd. (BO) was the worst performer, falling 1.97% at 124.40 in trade late. Tech Mahindra Ltd. (BO) lost 0.56% at 1790.55. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (BO) was also down 0.41% at 204.50.
On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 1300, 498, and 27 were unchanged. However, on the Bombay Stock Exchange 2342 rose while 934 fell, and 89 was unchanged.
The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was lower by 2.07% to 16.2225.
The February delivery of Gold Futures was higher by 0.35%, or 6.30, to $1820.40 per troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 0.68 percent to reach $76.31/barrel, while March Brent oil contracted fell 0.75/ 0.60 to trade for $78.93/barrel.
USD/INR decreased 0.11%, to 74.320. EUR/INR fell 0.6% to 84.1820.
The US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.00% to 95.960.
