Indian taxman recovers $6.62M from WazirX for evading tax on commission -Breaking

Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX claims to have paid more than $6.6 million (49.5 crore rupees), for not paying Goods and Services Tax. This total amount includes the $5.43 million (40.5 Crore rupees) in pending taxes, the interest, and the penalty for nonpayment.
Following the detection of GST evasion at $5.43 million, Central GST officials and Central Excise committees (CGST Mumbai Zone), recovered funds from the cryptocurrency exchange. GST fraud can be described as creating false invoices and not moving goods between seller or buyer.
