According to projections by Arcane Research, Latin America will see the largest growth in Bitcoin mining. The prediction is that the cryptocurrency’s hashrate will continue to be geographically distributed even more in 2022.

China’s crackdown against BTC mining has seen miners move their operations to countries other than China. The United States of America, Kazakhstan, Russia and Canada are some of the top places for Bitcoin mining.

China was responsible for just under 70% of all global BTC mining prior to the ban. In October 2017, the United States overtook the Asian titan and assumed the leading role in Bitcoin mining.

The Arcane Report states that although Chinese miners have already fled to countries where there are less restrictive laws or regulations to mining, it is expected that they will move to Latin American countries in 2022. El Salvador and El Salvador offer both legal and renewable energy.

In the opinion of the company’s analysts, the rapid geographic change of many mining companies shows that despite being “a physical industry, it is highly mobile and the geographic distribution of the hashrate can change rapidly”.
