[ad_1]

BAGHDAD (Reuters). – Iraqi’s air defences fired down two drones laden with explosives when they were approaching the Ain al-Asad military base. This airbase hosts U.S forces west of Baghdad.

On Monday, an identical attack was stopped when Iraqi air defenses shot down two drones while they were approaching a U.S. base located near Baghdad’s international airport.

These attacks occurred as Iran and its allies were marking the anniversary of Qassem Soleimani’s death.

United States leads international military coalition against Islamic State militants, both in Syria and Iraq.

Soleimani died in a drone attack near Baghdad Airport, ordered by the then-U.S. president Donald Trump.

Ebrahim Rashi, the Iranian president, stated Monday that Trump must be brought to trial for his murder. Otherwise Tehran would get revenge.
