Samsung Electronics (OTC:) America AnnouncementMonday, veritree announced its partnership with veritree (a platform that uses blockchain to manage climate change) in order to plant 2,000,000 mangrove trees in Madagascar in the next 3 months. Veritree utilizes blockchain technology to oversee the reforestation and check each tree is properly planted.

The tree-planting initiative is part of Samsung’s nature-based action plan on environmental sustainability, specifically to capture and sequester carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. It is a goal to restore 200 hectares of forest and sequester approximately 1 billion pounds (CO2) over the course of 25 years.
