Bank of America hires veteran investment banker Benjamin Saunders -Breaking

(Reuters] – Bank of America Corp has named Benjamin Saunders, a veteran financial banker and managing director of its Americas Financial Institutions Investment Banking division, to be its managing director. According to Reuters’ Tuesday memo.

Saunders is a former principal client coverage officer for New England depository institutions and mid-Atlantic banks at J.P. Morgan.

With over 25 years of investment banking experience, Saunders played a crucial role in several M&A deals, including Eastern Bankshares’ acquisition of Century Bancorp last year and BSB’s sale to People’s United in 2018, according to the memo.

This appointment is made against the background of top Wall Street companies’ talent battles. Dealmaking activity saw a record year in 2021. Refinitiv data shows that BofA advised more than 350 deals in 2017.
