Macy’s shortens store hours as COVID-19 cases surge -Breaking

(Reuters) – Macy’s Inc. (NYSE:) announced Tuesday that it would temporarily reduce its hours at its stores on certain days for January as COVID-19 continues to rise across the United States.

The company stated that it reduced the store hours from Monday through Thursday to 11 AM to 8 PM, from 10 AM to 9 PM earlier. However, they remain unchanged on Friday and Sunday.

Walmart (NYSE:), with more than 4700 U.S. outlets, shut down 60 COVID-19 hotspots stores temporarily in December to clean them of the virus.

According to the United States, almost 1 million cases of coronavirus infection were reported Monday. Omicron was fast-growing and accounted for 95.4%.
