HONG KONG, (Reuters) – Standard Chartered (OTC) Plc began operating in Hong Kong in divided teams, a spokesperson for the bank said Wednesday. This was after the Asian financial center announced strict new restrictions following an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The spokesperson stated that the bank’s London headquarters has established a Team A/TeamB working arrangement for critical teams. This week also included other units.

Carrie Lam, a leader in Hong Kong, said Wednesday that the government would introduce new measures to stop the spread COVID-19. She warned that the city is at the brink of another epidemic.

Hong Kong’s financial office have seen a near full operation for the last few weeks, unlike New York City or London. The city has been sticking to a zero-COVID strategy of largely isolating it from the outside world.
