Facebook owner Meta seeks to appeal UK ruling on Giphy -Breaking

LONDON (Reuters] – Meta, the Facebook owner (NASDAQ:), has filed to appeal a British Competition Watchdog ruling that Giphy is required to sell animated image platform Giphy.

CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) stated in November that Giphy acquisition will reduce the competition among social media platforms and display ads.

Meta filed an appeal for review against the Dec. 23 ruling by the Competition Appeal Tribunal, which was confirmed Wednesday.
