Norwegian Cruise cancels several sailings as Omicron cases surge -Breaking

REUTERS/Radu Sigheti(Reuters) – Norwegian Cruise Line (NYSE) cancelled Wednesday’s trips on eight vessels. Some of these ships are due to embark in late April. The spread of Omicron variants in the United States is not slowing down.

Norwegian Cruise explained that due to travel restrictions ongoing, they had to change a few sailings. They also had to cancel.
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have launched an investigation into 94 ships for COVID-19, and a few Norwegian Cruises’ ships are also under surveillance.
Last week the CDC warned people not to travel aboard cruise ships, regardless of vaccination status. The CDC begins scrutiny if more than 0.10% of passengers are found positive for COVID-19.
Norwegian Cruise insists that its guests and passengers are vaccinated. They have cancelled all Norwegian Pearl Ship sailings with embarkation dates after Jan. 14.
On Tuesday, the cruise company also announced that it had cut short its 12-day Panama Canal roundtrip itinerary from Miami to accommodate “COVID-related circumstances.”
Norwegian Cruise cancelled all sailings aboard other vessels, such as Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Sun. The company stated that guests would receive automatic full refunds as well as bonus credits which they can use to book future cruises.
According to Norwegian Cruise’s website, there are 17 ships.
