Ex-Trump press secretary Grisham to meet with Jan. 6 committee -source -Breaking

(Reuters) – Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, will be meeting with U.S.Congressional committee members Wednesday evening to discuss the January 6 attack on Capitol. According to a source with knowledge of the meeting.

From July 2019, to April 2020, Grisham worked as White House press secretary. In that time she was appointed chief of staff for Trump’s wife Melania.

Grisham resigned on Jan. 6th 2021 after supporters of former President stormed Capitol trying to stop the certification of President Joe Biden’s victory in November 2020.

Grisham published a book that told all about Trump’s mistreatment of his staff last year. It also included Grisham’s plea for Russian President Vladimir Putin to be placated.

CNN reported Grisham’s cooperation with House of Representatives Select Committee. CNN said it was after a telephone call with Jamie Raskin, a Democrat, who advised her to meet the panel.

The majority of the investigation into what was the largest attack on Congress in the history of the War of 1812 took place behind closed doors. The Select Committee has interviewed more than 300 witnesses about the violence by Trump supporters and Trump’s response to it.

According to the Department of Justice around 140 police officers were assaulted in the riot. According to the Department of Justice, one officer killed fighting rioters and four others who guarded Capitol died later from suicide. One of the rioters who tried to enter the building via a broken window was also killed by police.

Taylor Budowich (current Trump spokesperson) stated in a court filing on Dec. 27, that he had cooperated extensively with committee members, producing over 1,700 pages and providing approximately four hours of sworn testimonies.
