Reports say that the White House has been considering a presidential economic adviser, and a former Fed economist, to fill the vacant positions on the Federal Reserve System board of governors in 2022.

A Wednesday Washington Post report citing sources familiar with the situation states that President Joe Biden remains in office. ConsiderSarah Bloom Raskin from Duke University will be joining the seven Federal Reserve governors this year. This includes economists Lisa Cook, and Philip Jefferson. Cook teaches at Michigan State University and has previously worked as a member of the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers under President Barack Obama, while Jefferson was a research economist for the Federal Reserve Board.
