(Reuters) – French food service and catering company Sodexo reported Thursday a 17.5% increase in organic sales for its first quarter. This was due to the reopening schools and universities across France as COVID-19 restrictions eased.

This caterer operates in 56 countries and reported revenue of 5.26 Billion Euros ($5.95 Billion) in September-November. It was slightly higher than analysts’ estimates of 5.24 Billion euros, according to a company consensus.

Paris-based Compass is one of the most important catering firms in the world.

Sophie Bellon, interim Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer said that the company maintains its annual guidance at this point and remains confident in continued recovery.
