Cruise liner Hurtigruten cuts short Antarctic voyage after COVID outbreak -Breaking

OSLO (Reuters). – Norwegian cruise operator Hurtigruten has announced that it will end a journey in Antarctica following an epidemic of coronavirus.

Hurtigruten spokesperson said that the vessel will be returning to Chile two days earlier than scheduled because 10 passengers aboard it had tested positive for COVID-19.

This ship was carrying around 362 passengers and crew. It had been on an 18-day cruise departing from Punta Arenas in south Chile.

Public health officials from Norway stated that the coronavirus epidemic infecting MS Roald Amundsen in August 2020 also affected this ship. Several passengers and crew were among those who tested positive.
