REUTERS/Gonzalo FuentesFRANKFURT, (Reuters) – Eurozone entrepreneurs lowered their expectation for price increases for the first month in over a year, data shows on Friday. This could indicate that inflation is beginning to ease in the region.
The Eurostat survey revealed that while the majority of businesses, especially those in manufacturing, expected to increase their prices over the next three-months, their shares fell across the sectors slightly compared to November.
Following October’s record-breaking month, consumers are now less likely to be concerned about prices rising in the coming 12 months.
An Economic Sentiment Indicator that aggregates consumer, retailer, and industrialist questions in the 19 euro-area countries fell at 115.3 points for the second month straight. It is now at its lowest level since May 20,21.
