(Reuters) – Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has suspended some of its cruise operations in light of rising COVID-19 cases due to Omicron.

Trois ships, Serenade of the Seas Jewel of the Seas Symphony of the Seas, and Serenade of the Seas have been put on hold while the Vision of the Seas’ return to cruising is delayed until March 7, 2022. A statement from the cruise company was made Friday.

“We are sorry to have to cancel the long-awaited vacations for our guests, but we appreciate their loyalty. These measures were taken “out of an abundance”

Royal Caribbean cancelled its Spectrum of the Seas Cruise for January 6th after nine passengers on the Jan. 2 cruise were found to be close friends of a Hong Kong COVID-19 Case.

Although the contacts were negative, the ship will make a return trip to Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in Hong Kong to conduct a second testing on all crew and guests.
