Monday marked the start of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament — the largest men’s football championship series in Africa. Binance also announced its partnership with Confederation of African Football and its sponsorship of the AFCON 2021 tournament. It became the first cryptocurrency or blockchain sponsor of the event.

Through this sponsorship, Binance will also be promoting CAF’s social media content which will include the assist of the day, assist of the week and assist of the tournament. The content will be available in Cameroon’s five largest cities and at all six venues.
